Thousands of runners at “Volta da USP” and "Volta da Pampulha"

The traditional “Volta da USP” had, on its 38th edition on October 21, three thousands  runners taking part at the 10k race in the university. This year the course has changed, making it harder with more hills, but the structure remained as good as always with plenty of Gatorade distribution. The winners were Gilson Rodrigues de Miranda (31:00) and Maria Lúcia Alves Vieira (35:53).

One week later, on October 28, another huge race: "Volta da Pampulha" in Belo Horizonte city. The 17,850 meters course around the famous Pampulha Lagoon achieved, in its 3rd edition, once again the limit number of 4,000 runners . Brazilian Maria Zeferina Baldaia won the woman's race in 1:02:11 and Kenyan David Cheruyiot won by the second time the men's race in 53:07.
