Brazilians win Disney and Bermuda, Japanese prevail at Osaka Marathon

January had some interesting marathons around the globe in various places like Japan, Disney World® and Bermuda Islands.

In the Florida Parks Complex, Brazilian Adriano Bastos won the 10th edition of Disney World® Marathon with a time of 2:18:33. Second place was Kenyan David Hinga in 2:23:40.

Another Brazilian, Luiz Carlos Ramos, won the Bermuda International Marathon, for the second consecutive year, in 2:21:23. Belo-Russian Elena Makolova was the female champion in 2:50:22.

The Osaka International Ladies Marathon, in Japan, was dominated by local athletes who captured the 3 first positions. The champion was Mizuki Noguchi with the time of 2:21:18, a new race record. Second place was Masako Chiba in 2:21:45. Naoko Sakamoto, 3rd place, achieved the second best female marathon debut in history with a time of 2:21:51.
