Brazilians prevail at Miami Tropical Marathon

The Brazilian runners dominated the first four positions at Toyota Prius Miami Tropical Marathon. The winner was William Gomes Amorim (2:14:40), followed by Genilson Junio da Silva (2:15:17), Alex Januário de Mendonça (2:22:11) and William Salgado Gomez (2:23:50). Among the women the winner was American Stacie Alboucrek in 2:42:32. She overcame Brazilian Marlene Fortunato by 37 seconds. The race put together more than 10,000 athletes running along Miami's famous beaches and through beautiful areas of the city like South Beach, Coconut Groove, Venetian Causeway and Brickell Ave.
