Vanderlei Cordeiro de Lima wins Bronze Medal at Olympic Marathon Athens 2004

Vanderlei Cordeiro de Lima had an impressive performance at the Athens 2004 Olympic Marathon and won the Bronze medal even after attacked by an intruder. The brazilian marathoner was leading the race at the 32 km, when a demented idiot in a kilt pushed him off the course. In the spite of the scare and the lost of time, Vanderlei Cordeiro de Lima still had the guts to come back to the race and win the Bronze medal with the time of 2:12:11. The winner was italian Stefano Baldini (2:10:55) followed by american Mebrahtom Keflezigui (2:11:29).
