José Gutemberg won Curitiba Marathon with the course record

José Gutemberg won the hilly Curitiba Marathon with the course record time of 2:17:56. In order to avoid the hot weather the marathon start was anticipated for 7:00 am, what contributed to improve the performance of the runners. Among the women the winner was Ilda Alves dos Santos in 2:22:21. More than 2,000 runners took part in Curitiba Marathon, a new record for this race.
